What GCSE grades do you need to become a Doctor?

To be honest it does make much of a difference what you get in your GCSE results. They just set up a basis for your future and they considered vocational when you are older. I am also taking my GCSE's but I am in year 11. I got a B last year and I am predicted an A this year in additional science. BB in dual science is enough to be honest because universities base most things on your A levels but sometimes require BB at GCSE level. An A in GCSE maths i also recommended if you wish to go to a competitive university. A mixture of A's and B's at GCSE will also make you a good candidate for going to med school. A levels are much more important. Chemistry is a must have plus another science or maths but it is better if you have 3. 3 A's is the grade requirements for getting into all medical programmes. Good luck in the future and with your GCSE results.

there is no two ways about it, straight A grades and A* grades clearly indicate to teachers that not only are you dedicated and very hard working, but you have the brains to study material, consolodate and undrestand it. Therefore you have shown you are perhaps serious about doing well in life academicaly speaking, and nothing gets more 'academic' in life than the Doctor profession, beacuse in the medical feield the process of learning is an ongoing process and will never end (research yields new findings monthly, the countless medical books, journals, conferences, papers are a testament to this). Straight A's mean that you are naturaly bright and not somebody who had to 'graft' hard for the grades and spent long long hours of revision and consolidation fo material, it may also indicate you have a hidden interest and enthusiasm for a subject and ultimately means that even if you do 'slack off' a bit, take the foot off the gas and begin to 'relax' - you are still more than capable of doing well academicaly. Biology is a must study subject for yourself, followed by chemistry the undrestanding of chemicals and compounds - physics is not really important I don't think to the medical professions (which doctor/surgeon/othroplogist needs to know about Newtons law of forces ? no really lets all agree physics is not needed here...) its refrshing and exciting to see young people so full of aspiration, drive and ambition to want to study hard and become something in life - after all, you are the future heh good luck and in 20 yrs time maybe you'll be performing and intricate brain operation on me ? heh
