What's the difference between SAT and ACT?

  • I know that the SAT is mostly critical thinking and IQ test questions, but I know absolutely nothing about the ACT. What kind of questions are on it? are they like the SAT questions? ...show more

  • Answer:

ACT is less mind altering... you don't have to analyze much. It doesn't try to trick you. But you do have to know you're stuff.... It's usually only required by Eastern Schools though.

The ACT has questions in English, Math, Reading, & Science. In my state we are not requiered to take the SAT's so I just took the ACT, it is pretty easy. The difference between them, is the school you are applying to. Some schools recommend the ACT while others recommend SAT"s, while the ones in between asks for both or either or. Good luck!

SAT is more for like west coast colleges, ACT is like east coast colleges, but the SAT does quiz you a lot better on what you know compared to the ACT, it all depends, because some tests might be harder for you than others. Personally I felt that the ACT was way easier
