What is the IB Program?

How do you get into the IB Program? How are the classes? what advantage do you have with an IB diploma?

• I know that IB classes are like A.P, but do they really help you prepare for college? do you get any college credit for them? Do you have to take a certain test or something to get in?

• Answer:

  I'm currently in an IB program at a regular high school. We take AP courses starting freshman you and we will end up graduating with several college courses, if not enough for a completed first year. Where i live we have a variety of magnet schools that feed out of our district but i do believe that if you look at the IB website that you can find out about programs near where you live and then find out how to contact people at the schools or talk to a counselor at your school about it. I do believe that it also depends on what year you enter the program, depending on what grade you are currently in. I don't know how it works for other schools but for mine we had to go through a whole application project and then take a test to see if we qualified. Make sure to check the information out as soon as possible though before your opportunity is up!! It's a great chance to meet alot of great people and get a great education as well.
