How much is it to remove keloid?

Is there any treatment to remove a keloid scar?

  • I have this ugly keloid scar on my arm from a cigarette burn. Is there any kind of treatment that would remove it, or at least make it smaller?

  • Answer:

Keloids can be reduced in side and appearance by applying the liquid out of a Vitamin E capsule twice daily. It will take several months of doing this but the results are pretty good. I had a large keloid from a surgical procedure that was about a 50 cent size and it is now flat to the skin and almost the same color as the surrounding skin. I think I put the Vitamin E (puncture the capsule with a pin) on for 6-9 months because the keloid was in a very visible place. The other answer is also correct.

A couple of things can be done depending on the scar. A plastic surgeon can do a scar revision. This would entail a incision around the scar closing it in a straight line or a Z plasty depending on the sized. This will leave you with a much prettier scar. Your surgeon may want to inject the scar with steroid to soften the appearance if it is not that large.
