As a British nurse what steps would I need to take to go and work in Toronto in Canada?

  You would need to contact the college of nurses( our licensing bodies are called colleges) in Ontario (cno.org).They will have information on their site about how to apply as an IEN ( international educated nurse).If you meet their requirements you will be given permission to write the CRNE.If you pass you will be granted a nursing license. UK nurses quite often have trouble meeting the requirements to work in Canada. Canadian nurses are generalist trained whereas UK nurses are specialist trained.You need to have a BSN and you need theory and clinical hours in adult, peds, OB/GYN and mental health. You would also have to apply for immigration. That takes time and money.Go to cic.gc.ca for information on doing that.
