  Independent homeschooling gives you the most freedom. A teacher does NOT visit you unless you hire a tutor. You choose what to study and what curriculum or materials to use. It also gives you more freedom in the schedule. Unless your state laws dictate otherwise, you can study when and how long you want or need to. You can take the work with you as you travel or adjust your schedule to fit in a vacation as needed. Since you pick what to study and how, you can count non-traditional learning such as hands-on trips instead of just textbooks as long as you can justify it (a trip to Disney probably wouldn't count toward civics, but a trip to Washington DC would). Online school is a form of correspondence study similar to regular schools only the work is done online instead of in a classroom. You must study what the program tells you to using their materials. They usually have a set schedule you must follow, so if you have unreliable internet access while traveling it can be difficult. .
