As homeschooling parents, would you ever find yourselves actively reading a blog written by a former homeschool graduate now in college? What do you like to see in a ...show more

Answer:
I'd read it. Whether I'd keep reading it would depend on how interesting and helpful it is. I'd like an honest sounding blog, the good and the bad that go with college and their experiences. It gives me more to think about. Sometimes when people blog it can seem self-centered when they only tell how great things are. Edit: Also, I'd be most interested in the college experience and less with the ideas for keeping up my interest and my kids'. I like to hear about people's 1st hand experiences.

Not unless I knew the person writing the blog. I know so many homeschooled kids who are anow in college, and so many parents who have helped their kids through the process, that my tendency is to talk to the person IRL. All the best.

I haven't read one, but I definitely would! My son is starting high school, quickly approaching college (will likely take several credits while in high school), and I'd love to read the insights of someone who's recently been there. That's actually one of the things I love about homeschooling - I can surround him with kids, older than him, who are really people he can look up to. I'd love to be able to do so online as well. If you start a blog, please let me know and I'll be one of your faithful readers :) Hope all's going well!

No, I haven't. Not even now and then. I don't read any blogs. I am just too busy for them. For this too, I keep saying I need to quit! Every home schoolers experience is different, so I would worry someone reading would think they needed to have a similar experience to feel successful. Once you are no longer home schooling, such as thoughts on college after home schooling...I can't see myself being interested. Once in college, what would the former home schooling experience matter? People might be interested in how you got into college, they worry home schoolers won't be able to. But, a blog...? Maybe for blog lovers.
I think it would be really interesting - let me know if you start one!
