I would just keep stopping by the store until you run into the manager. He's more likely to talk to you if you show up in person instead of blowing you off and pretending like he isn't there when you call. Keep in mind that they may really not need any more help at the time being, so keep an open mind and apply for as many jobs as you can find. Someone will realize what a great asset you will be to them.
