Why is Burger King called "hungry jacks" in Australia?

In Australia why is Burger King called Hungry Jacks and not Burger King as it is the world over ?

not sure of the reason but i know there is a burger king in the city (melb),i ate there once and it was pretty much the same as hungry jacks only a bit more expensive.

I thought Hungry Jacks was just Australia's own burger shop. i would not have thought it had any connection Burger King but then again I have never seen a burger king here! Interesting question.
