Why won't my Diesel Corsa start?

I ran out of diesel in a vauxhall corsa 1.7, now it wont start and garage said its not an airlock any ideas?

  • I as told by the garage that it is not an airlock as they have bled it but it's not firing up. can anyone help me?

  • Answer:

i had a vectra 2.0 dti that ran out of diesel.i was told to take it to garage to have it bled.i read that they will start if turned over for long enough.i flattened the battery with no luck.recharged it and it eventualy fired however this for some reason is not recomended.once started it ran fine and i never let it run out of diesel again.i also never trusted the computer again as it said i had 10 miles to go before it would run out.

It's probably the fuel filter that is blocked, or the pump that is not functioning correctly.
