The first photo appears to be the protonema of a moss. There isn't enough development to be able to identify the species. The second is a photo of a juniper (cedar). It could be a native species or a cultivar. You could take samples of each of these organisms to the Biology or Botany Department fo a university to see if someone can ID the species of each. Another source of info is a botanical garden if one is located in your area.
