If you country participate in the Visa Waiver Program., you DO NOT need a visa. Just a machine readable passport and must be valid 6 mos after your visit. If you are citizen of any E.U., you do not need a visa. But if you are not citizen of any E.U. countries but living there, you still must have a visa. It is not where you live, it is citizenship which counts.
