What will happen if you touch a patient using a AED?

I know that your not supposed to touch a patient using a AED when its analyzing or shocking but what will happen if you touch someone while its doing that? Will the AED not analyze at ...show more

AED's are extremely dangerous if used incorrectly. However when used the right way (certified) it can save a life! If you touch the patient while it is analizing it could feel your pulse. and your heart rythem and it w ill think the patient is still alive. When shocking it couild kill you . it will throw your heart out of rythem because it is trying to start someones heart up .

7. Keep your hands off the patient while performing the defibrillation. Also make sure no-one else touches the patient. If these rules are not respected, you or others might get the electric shock. Touching the patient while the AED performs the analysis will not give accurate results.
