Can anyone recommend good, interesting and (preferably) relatively low-budget places to eat out in barcelona?

If you walk down La Ramblas, from the Placa Catalunya toward the harbour, about halfway down on the left is a square called the Placa Real and its like a piece of old Spain, nice to just sit in, but also its lined with small cafes and restaurants, not too expensive and serving all sorts of different foods. A quick stroll round the square should take about ten minutes and you can read all the different menus.
