Answer:
I'd suggest getting some information about thyroid disease. Try Reading Mary Shoman's Thyroid 101 at: http://thyroid.about.com/blthyroid.htm If you've started a new medication and are having side effects you should notify your doctor. There's a list of side effects for this drug at: http://www.medicinenet.com/levothyroxine-oral/article.htm I take Synthroid and I've never experienced any side effects. Levothyroxine is a generic version of Synthroid. There are a number of drugs available to treat hypothyroidism. My husband has had better results taking Armour which is a natural thyroid replacement.

I take 200 mcg of levothyroxine a day...a pretty high dosage. These feelings you are having are not side effects of this hormone. In fact, if your thyroxine level is properly adjusted, you won't have any side effects at all. You do want to beware of taking more levothyroxine than you actually need, though. Your thyroid effects every part of your body, including your heart and your mental health.

Why are you taking Levothyroxine ? Was your TSH test low? You should talk to the Dr that prescribed it . Also check your print out from the Pharmacy on side effects, or you could call the Pharmacy and ask . Only temporary side effects are listed : in rare instances, some hair loss within the first few months of starting this medicine. You can also search the Yahoo or Google search engine on Levothyroxine. Are you drinking the full glass of water, after taking the medicine. Report to your Doctor on Monday what you are experiencing. Hope this is helpful

The side effects of levothyroxine are: Serious side effects: allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of lips, tongue, or face, hives), voimiting, chest pain, irregular heartbeat. Less serious side effects: tremors, nervousness or irritability, headache, insomnia, diarrhea, change in appetite or weight loss, leg cramps, menstrual irregularities, fever, sweating, or heat sensitivity. So, yes, tremors is one of the side effects. It does not state euphoria but other side effects other than those listed may occur with this medication. You should continue taking this med and see if it resolves itself. If not contact your doctor. Good Luck!
