  Getting an agenct is key to becomming a working actress. Once you have an agent, they will give you oppertunities to audition for film, television, theatre, high fashion and commercial print modeling. An agent tries its hardest to get you auditions because they only get money from you when they get you a job. Do some local acting/modeling such as plays, classes, and workshops. Explore dance and voice as well to build experiance and make yourself more marketable. Ask your acting coach/teacher if they could recommend agents and give you the resume format. If not you can find this information online or through bookstores. Once you get a resume, have some headshots taken. Send out your headshots and resumes to agencies in your area and hope that they request a sit down. At the sit down they may ask you to do a short monologue, commercial, song or dance. Be prepared for anything. Also be yourself and let your personality shine through. If they see star potential in you (good personality, marketable look, acting ability, ability to take rejection) they will sign you. Once they sign you chances for auditions will come your way. You may or may not get the part. In acting there is a lot of rejection hopefully followed by success. Good luck and always fight for what you want. Be the judge of what you can and cant do and never let anyone bring you down!
