Well, if you want to start an acting career, the first step would be to get an acting coach outside of your school and to start a resume. Unless your Drama teacher is a professionally trained instructor with a good base of professional experience, you need to find one. Google "Acting Schools in (Your City)" or "Acting Lessons in (Your City)" to find a good coach or Conservatory. Make sure they have a professional base in acting experience and are professionally trained by another coach or conservatory. Now you may start your resume. A resume is a sheet of paper that you give to casting directors at auditions. It tells them your basic information, experience, training, and special skills. Head shots are required at some auditions, but you do not HAVE to get them. Here is a good link on hoe to create a resume. You are a beginner I assume, so look at the first section on how to create a beginner resume. http://www.ace-your-audition.com/acting-resume-samples.html It's a little blurry, but it goes in this order: TOP: Name, Height, Weight, Hair Color, Eye Color. MIDDLE: Experience, Training. BOTTOM: Special Skills (Ex. gymnastics, tap, swimming, ect.) Once this is done, you may start going to auditions. I'm assuming you will be trying out for stage plays and musicals, since you are beginner and do not have an agent. Your acting instructor will most likely give you information on these. Most do. Once you have had professional training for 1-2 years, as well as a good, solid base of experience in local or community theater on your resume, you may consider auditioning for an agent. Your acting coach can probably help you with this step, since most good coaches know some of the local and national agents. You will probably be required to audition with a monologue and do an interview. Truthfully, there could be many reasons to why you have a D. Some drama classes, like my old one per say, had tests, quizzes, and homework assignments that if you didn't turn in, you'd get a 0. I cannot answer that question because I truly do not know why you have a D. Good Luck with your acting career!

Okay - your poor current grades could be because your group is weak, your teacher isn't very good, you aren't getting on with the other students, the work is mostly theory and that's not your strong point, or you just not very talented. I can't tell without seeing you act. Why not join a local theatre club or acting class, away from school? Most towns have them, and they're very different from school stuff. My daughter didn't even take Drama as a GCSE and she went to college to get her A Levels, and after that went to drama school - and she's now a professional actor. Also, see if you can get involved with local amateur drama or shows - a bit of experience in a more realistic situation could make a lot of difference. Good luck!
