How do you speak with your diaphragm?

How do you speak from you diaphragm ? I need 2 speak to large crowds, and don't want to seem like I'm yelling?

    I never thought about it really ! Yes, I guess I do speak from my diaphragm ! How ? I tighten my stomach muscles and keep them firm. That's how I call my Horses and Dogs.

The key is to breathe with your stomach....and not your chest. I learned how to do this in broadcasting school. When you inhale, expand your gut...........instead of your chest. This is easy to do when laying down..........but try it while your're standing & speaking. It takes some getting used to and you might get winded at first. Try it and let me know how it goes.
