  You can use carb cleaner for cleaning the bearings. Paint thinner and lighter fluid work too, but take much longer to 'dry' Paint thinner can leave a residue is it isn't 100% mineral spirits. Denatured alcohol is my preferred cleaner. Available at any hardware store or paint store. As for lubrication, you can use sewing machine oil or any other lightweight machine or bearing lubricant. No WD-40. No cooking fats. If you have a bike shop nearby, they should have Tri-Flow. Skate shops and some hardware stores carry it as well.
