I want to learn how to animate in flash?

I want to learn java gaming. Iam a complete beginner in this area and this is to enhance my knowledge. Iam thinking flash client with java backend. Can you tel me how to go about it? I know some core java and have no knowledge of flash.

You don't need to learn Flash, since Java is already a good (not best) choice in Game Development! If you know OpenGL , try LWJGL (Lightweight Java Game Library). It is the engine used in Minecraft. However, LWJGL isn't a complete game library (you will need additional physics engine, resource manager, entity manager, etc..) It just provide you access to OpenGL , OpenCL and OpenAL There are also tons of game engines built on higher abstraction that based on LWJGL. Slick2D Easy to use with some nice user-provided tutorial for beginners. I have tried this and I don't find any problems at all. JMonkeyEngine (3D) Full -featured IDE based on Netbeans Google them for more information
