Here are some success stories Had my Mirena removed 10/30/07 after having it for 3 years with no period. I never bled, never spotted and tested positive for pregnancy first week of January '08. Ultrasound has placed fertilization approximately 11/29/07....so about a month after removal. I was shocked that it happened so quickly after not having a period for soooo long. Anyways, just lucky I guess. posted 01/28/2008 by idkwntc Report this answer {"ajaxResult": { "errors": "", "addedItemId": "", "loggedIn": "false", "url": "" } } Was this answer helpful? Thank you! 30 out of 31 found this helpful I removed the Mirena March 23, menstruated April 15 and I just got a positive pregnancy test May 14. I am a doctor and after reading some of the other postings, I think that many people don't realzie how much of a miracle pregnancy is. Many things have to go right to become pregnant and many things can go wrong. There is no evidence that the Mirena causes miscarriage or ruins your cycle. It is normal for any couple to take 6 months or more to get pregnant. Also, half of all pregnancies are miscarriages but most people don't even find out they are pregnant so they didn't even know they miscarried. In my opinion, the most important thing to do when you are trying to get pregnant is to relax. Getting stressed out will only increased the acidity of your fluids and this will definitely hurt your chances. So relax, it will happen when your body is ready! posted 05/18/2009 by AlynMD Report this answer {"ajaxResult": { "errors": "", "addedItemId": "", "loggedIn": "false", "url": "" } } Was this answer helpful? Thank you! 29 out of 30 found this helpful I had my mirena for about 7 months and only had my period once. I had it taken out a week before Thanksgiving 2007 and had a very light and short period right after. I got it again 3 weeks later and it was light and short as well. My husband and I didn't try very hard because our doctor told us to wait at least a month so that I had a good period so that my uterus was nice and think, ready for pregnancy because the Mirena thins it out so much. I took a pregnancy test on January 4, 2008 and it came up very slightly positive. I called the doctor right away and made an appointment to have a blood test done so that I could know right away. It came up positive and now we're pregnant with baby #3. Or as my husband would say that I'm pregnant and he's just along for the ride, praying that I'm not moody and nauseated. So pregnant no more then 2 months after removal. I think the less pressure you put on yourself and your partner the easier it is to get pregnant. Stress can wreck havoc on you. posted 01/11/2008 by CStarr7437
