  1.) The fish will turn on in the early morning and evening and sometimes throughout the night (when night fishing for bass use dark baits with something that makes a bunch of noise like black buzzerbaits, or poppers, etc.) also night fishing for bass, bass will take the meal before it thinks twice about it, because they are much more active during the night. 2.) when locating bass look for things that jump out at you, like a tree in the water, logs in the water, rocks, where baitfish spawning points are at, shade, vegetation (lilly pads, weeds, etc.), bridges, etc.. one thing i pick up on is i look along the bank and if i see baby bass then the big boys are around somewhere. 3.) when fishing for bass remember they are ambush predators, so fish along vegetation lines, and right by fallen trees where a baitfish could have wonder out of its zone and it can be an easy meal for the bass. a slow retrievel with a tug of the rod every half turn of the reel. so if you turn the reel 360 degrees 50 times you should have 100 tugs. also when fishing for bass think about what its natural foods are where the bass is located. that is a good useful thing to think about for me at least. 4.) the average weight of a bass is about three pounds nowadays. heres a link to a site that tells all about that: http://www.in-fisherman.com/content/bass-fishing-then-now/1
