Probably, unless the next president has the same ideals as Obama on gun laws.

Maybe... People are buying up guns and ammunition because Obama has them scared that he is going to take them away. Who knows, he probably has some stock in a gun company or something. The prices will only go down when the demand goes down, like you said, but nobody knows when that will happen. Maybe the next president will continue to attempt to take guns away from people, then the demand will probably continue to be high.

Oh certainly. Anyone overpaying for one now will have to deal with depreciation in their purchase later. In this market, I did not buy firearms, but I have sold one I had. It is currently a seller's market. Of course it will switch back to a buyer's market over time, and a catalyst like the end of Obama's second term is certain to set it off.

Ammunition won't be dirt cheap because the prices of zinc, copper, tin, and lead have climbed steadily over the last decade and ammunition makers won't manufacture at a loss. They are very finite resources with a lot of industrial uses. The "best" result you can expect is perhaps a temporary glut of ammunition due to its expendable nature. On the other hand, if you're the sort of person who stockpiled AR parts as an investment after Sandy Hook, you're going to take it in the pants.

Yes, because Hillary will take Bill'a advice when it comes to gun control (i.e. stay the hell away from the issue).

Maybe, provided that the 'right to possess' survives the Obama administration. Make no mistake about it. He represents a group that wants to take ALL the guns out of our hands. This 'Assault weapon' business is just another wedge in the door frame.

I don't think the prices will be dirty cheap, but it is certainly the case that the used market is going to be fast for awhile as people who couldn't afford guns and bought them on plastic thinking they could flip them are caught. Have cash ready. Thinkingblade

As soon as the gun ban is defeated, demand should drop severely. I doubt if prices will drop below November 2012 prices.
