How would some one get a sponsor, and what would that sponsor do?

You will not get a sponsor until you have created a body of work and demonstrated that you can get an audience. To get an audience you must be consistent and you must have passion. You can't release a youtube once a month or once a week and expect to keep anyone's attention. When not hunting you should be talking about hunting, teaching hunting, having guests on your films or podcasts and/or blog. Take for example http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/ Jack does a podcast 5 days a week. It's all free but thousands of people (like me) send him $50 a year so he can keep doing what he is doing. He started his podcasts with a little mp3 recorder and did them during his 50 mile commute to work. Now he doesn't need a job because he has built a business out of the podcasts and videos. All of which are free to the general public. Look to the right of his page and you will see sponsors. With most of them he has arranged discounts for members. You will see a link to the forum. There's a PHD of information on there. That's what it takes to do what you are thinking of. Good luck!
