You don't need a liscence to buy a gun in Ohio you have to be 18 to buy a gun and 21 to buy a handgun. All you have to do is fill a form that will ask you questions like, are you a wanted fugitive, do you suffer from any mental illness, do you have any history of substance abuse. (Of course only an idiot would say yes to those questions) and thats pretty much it.

In Ohio, there is no such thing as a "gun license". As in every state, you can get an FFL license to SELL guns. You can also get a license to carry a concealed handgun. Licenses to purchase guns simply do not exists. As for what you need, all you need is a driver's license if you are going to buy from an FFL dealer, so they can run a background check on you. If you are buying from a private individual at a gun show, all you need is the money.

If you live in Ohio and are at least 18, you can buy a rifle or shotgun from a licensed dealer. You'll need to be 21 to buy a pistol. Laws are subject to change, of course, but a dealer would know about any updates.
