How to unclog shower drain..head of razor went down?!?

I did a similar thing when I was in my apartment. I actually dropped the cover that was on the razor down the drain. I used a hanger (wire) to get it out. Luckily it wasn't to far down. I haven't ever tried the shop-vac technique metioned before, but that sounds like it might work too. If all else fails...you might want to hire a plumber. In my opinion it might be better to just hire a plumber instead of getting the landlord/management involved because they can tend to be over-bearing you-know-whats! Good luck!

I think Ronald is right, as was Bob the Builder. The razor is grabbing hair on its way down the drain. You will have to get the razor out. Is there access to the piping on the floor below your bathroom ? If so try to open the trap or clean out to remove the razor. You may have to get your landlord involved ( it sounds like you are hoping to avoid this) After you get it cleared, put a screen / cover over the drain to stop hair ( and razors) from going down there. You can get them from Walmart for less than $2, I am sure you could find them at Lowe's or Home Depot or Ace hardware also. They are a small round plastic disc with a screen in the center, lets the water thru but not the razor.

The problem is that the razor is snagging gunk (mostly hair). As the other poster said, you can try various things to yank out the hair and hopefully the razor blade that's in there.
