  • Answer:

*Practice juggling the ball. Its rewarding and will get you comfortable with the ball. *Dribble through some cones or some other obstacle to gain ball control. Just remember that whenever you dribble, you want to look at the ball as little as possible! And keep it close! *Scrimmage with some of your friends :) *Get in shape! Run a few miles for endurance and do some sprint exercises to gain speed. *Watch some soccer videos online and definitely watch the pros on tv as much as possible! Good Luck!

The coaches are mostly looking out for your control of the ball, and physical attributes. play to your own strengths. Depending on where you are, if the culture of football is physical, then you'd need to show fire and aggression in your play. If you're elsewhere where they love to pass the ball, pay close attention to your FIRST TOUCH, and then your technique with passing and shooting. You can take a ball and practice passing with a wall. Kick it hard, kick it soft, chip the ball. CONTROL the ball when it bounces off the wall and back to you. Place the ball in the direction you want, preferably with your first touch. Train both foots if you can. And watch youtube videos on how to take free kicks, shoot, pass and stuff. learn from the best (eg, crossing- beckham.), get you basics right, before you attempt the fanciful stuff. If you excel in your basics, chances are, you're a level ahead all of the rest, even the fanciful ones. what's the purpose if you can do 10 step overs but can't pass a 10 yard ball properly. Hey, Great attitude! Here are some more ideas: - Juggling Works on ball control and 1st touch - Interval Training Mix sprinting into jogging exercises to better resemble the demand of a soccer game - Dribble through/around cones This quickens your feet and your ball control - Throw ball up into the air and try to control with your laces part of the boot so that it does not bounce back up into the air, but stops right in front of you
