Where did Football's nickname Soccer originate?

The name soccer actually originated in England. In 1863 when the laws of the game were established it became 'Association Football.' This was often abbreviated as 'Assoc. Football', and then after awhile it was abbreviated as 'Socca Football.' Thus eventually came the name soccer.
