What makes Irish people successful migrants?

I have several answers based on my standpoint about the holiday and personal views... >>> St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was of Welsh decent and was brought/taken to Ireland and became a slave. He had his calling while working in a field and he was able to convert people to become Christian. >>> Leprechauns have the gold. They keep it and use it on desperate times. St. Patrick's Day was first celebrated ever by the Irish immigrants and emigrants in New York in the United States. Guess where the Leprechauns hid the gold? >>> Shamrock is their representation of the Holy Trinity. And Irish know that they are being protected by this sign. >>> Irish have Guiness Beer and corned beef! >>> Irish Saying : "If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at who He gives it to!" ---- Where do Filipinos look at when they think of Money? PCSO! >>> Irish Diplomacy : "...ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to making the trip." >>> Irish have Ballykissangel (one of my favorite series) and Colin Farrel. >>> Ireland has a queen...Filipinos have GMA It would go on and on...but the bottomline is... When can Filipinos stop comparing themselves with others, and try to start to be on their toes to achieve something? So there.... =D

theres different ways to measure success. owning a business is one or having a good job is another. just because there are more irish in the business world than filipinos this dont mean that they are more successful.

Filipinos are just as hard working as the Irish. The first big wave of immigrants from Ireland arrived in the USA in the 1600s. Filipinos have been coming to America since late 1700s but it wasn't till the early 1900s when bigger groups were coming in droves. What I'm saying is the Irish have a head start of at least 200 years. In due time, we too will get it right.

The Irish were willing to do what ever it took to survive when the came to the US. They did the work others didn't want to do, They are like the illegal emigrants now(mostly mexican). They were treated badly and they over came, the hardship. Many Filipinos I have met in the U.S. Navy are the same way, that is why they made good navy men, they were willing to do what they had to do to get the job done, And they are like the mexicans today, When they were in the phils, the only was to survive was to "BE ABLE TO DO SO MUCH WITH SO LITTLE FOR SO LONG THEY CAN NOW DO PRACTICALLY ANYTHING WITH NOTHING"
