I agree with the other answer, 3 days is not enough. I have spent 10 days in Rome and have barely touched the surface. Venice, forget it. You don't need as many days in Venice as Rome, but I still haven't spent enough days in either city to know how many days. And how are you going to get from Rome to Venice? For a driver like me, they are 6 hours apart. I guess you can take a train in the evening and try to get some sleep during that time. If you have three full days, fly into Rome and fly out of Venice or visa versa, quite frankly you are looking one full day of travel. You almost might as well fly into the airport and say you made it to Rome. You aren't going to try to fit in the Vatican, Florance or Milan? I would add at least one more day and knock out Florence and the Vatican. How about a Paladio tour while your here. Good luck, but I would stick to Venice or Rome if you are only here for three days. You won't see it all, but you will see enough to say you at least were there.

I think 2 days in Rome, 1 in Montepulciano,1 in Pisa (maybe you can spent a day also in Florence) and 1and a half in Venice. Totaly a week

Just the trip from Venice to Rome by trein would take 8 hours. If you go by plane, it would take at least 5 hours, you have to go to the airport, be there one and half hour before, one hour flight plus the time to go from the airport to the center of the city. So it is not possible. If you have just three days, go to Venice and enjoy this city. You will not see it all but at least you can enjoy a part of it. To visit Rome it takes at least 10 days, better if you have two weeks. Venice would deserve 5 days.
