  • Answer:

It depends how long you will stay. Venice will take approx 5 days to visit it all. Nearby Venice you have Verona a beautiful city, Bolzano and coming down you can visit Ravenna and the region Marche. Consider that July is going to be pretty warm in Italy. When you visit big cities you are going to suffer hot climate so I would suggest to keep on the cost and enjoy the beaches. The best way to travel is by car. You could use the treins but they are not that efficient. They are often late, often too full and it is not pleasant. You can rent a car and tour the spots you prefer by driving from one place to another. If you decide to go to Sicily or Sardinia you should take a flight. What to pack in july is very light clothes and your bathing suits. If you decide to go to the mountains, such as Bolzano, you should bring something warm to wear in the evening. Have a look at this site: http://www.apartmentforrentitaly.com/ They have a section with the description of all the regions in Italy with photos of them. So you can make up your own mind on what you would like to see based on the available time you have.
