What can you do to help clean up the earth?

Yesterday was earth day what do you do to help the earth I recycle have a compost pile and use CFL bulbs plea?

In summer, eat more fresh, raw food -- it's healthier as well as more energy efficient -- and in winter use a basket cooker or hay box to reduce the fuel needed to cook most foods. Consider going vegetarian one day a week or making lifestyle changes toward being meat-light. It takes ten pounds of corn and soybeans to produce one pound of cow or other animal (live weight); so eating lower on the food chain actually reduces energy consumption. Just remember: chocolate is made primarily from plants and some varieties are vegan. Peace. Babs

I use CFL bulbs in every lamp and fixture in my house, and I drive a small car that gets good gas mileage (25+ mpg). As a bonus, CFL bulbs will reduce your energy costs. When I switched to CFL light bulbs, my electric bill dropped by about $20 per month.

I'll admit.. I don't do what I should.. I'm curious though about CFL bulbs though because while the regular incandescent ones use more energy, aren't the CFL ones rather harmful to the environment as well because of mercury, etc??
