Is it possible to make a yacht?

How much money do private yacht captains make?

  • I am just curious how much they make.

  • Answer:

It would all depend on the "Yacht".. if it really IS a "Yacht"... something over 85 feet and being used commercially to haul passengers, then it would depend on where the yacht was operating because every area is different. When I am running a commercial workboat in the Gulf of Mexico, about the best going wage is $300 to $400 a day. If I was operating in the Gulf of Oman, it could easily be twice that. I have heard that the Captain of the $100 Million ship owned by Larry Eliston, the owner of Oracle, makes about $500 a day, but I can't prove that.

Other answers

I probably depends on the Yacht. Freelancers for smaller Yachts probably get about USD 400 / day for doing deliveries.
