I am going to Frankfurt Germany for Christmas and New Years to be with my husband. What is there to do there?

On New Year's Eve go to the southern bank of Main river: better view for fireworks over Frankfurt sky line - and don't forget glasses and champagne ;-) Outside Frankfurt (50 miles to the south): daytrip to Heidelberg to see the famous Heidelberg Castle ( http://www.cvb-heidelberg.de/e553/index_eng.html ) What else to expect: a lot of german speaking people (most know at least some english), the Zeil (a pedestrian area with many shops), a huge variety of restaurants (all types of german food and international cuisine), ...
