Glad you like the idea of paper clay - but that is basically an opaque material. How much translucent paper have you seen? Polymer clay is plastic and translucent is basically clear plastic working to overcome the situation that fine particles tend to make things opaque. You can try mixing - you may have a brilliant material - but baking paper inside PVC plastic doesn't seem a good thing to me.
