It's cheaper for us! However, I don't find that the quality of care is better! Every doctor (including specialists) that I have gone to, you are in and out in 5 minutes.

In France we pay around 60% of taxes..and part of this money is used for the health care system.

People are forced to buy health insurance (they usually pick the govt plan bc it is the cheapest). Forcing ppl to buy some insurance protects ppl who would otherwise go without insurance (and then have a massive stroke, heart attack, one car accident, etc.). In the US, we do have universal health care. But you have to be 65 yo to qualify. If you are in the US, when you apply for a job, be sure to ask about the health ins., not just the wages. Angelguy, yahoo answers visitors are unfair. You pay 60% taxes in France (this is for the average wage earner, I believe that people with higher incomes pay greater than 60% in taxes and some mean person unfairly gives you a thumbs down). C'est pas juste!
