What is limoges in france like?

Anybody know anything about Limoges in France?

  • Would like to know how far the airport is from the train station? Also is there any bus services which takes you from one to the other? How much would a taxi cost? Thanks in advance

    Hello, Limoges-Bellegarde International Airport is around 10km west of Limoges City Centre. It is around 12 km from the airport to the train station, called Gare de Limoges-Benedictins. There is no bus between the 2. You can either rent a car: the rental companies are just in front of the airport – but it is probably not convenient for you. You can otherwise take a taxi. The taxi stop is at the door of the airport. (It is a small one, you really cannot get lost!) There are not that many flights, so you should find a taxi waiting. If not, all the numbers are written on the taxi rank so you may call one. From the airport to the train station, it should take 10-15mn, for around € 20. Be careful, the fare can double at night, or on a bank holiday. I am not sure about weekends. I would advise you to have enough cash, as it is normally the only way to pay. Limoges. I've been there twice to work and, while it is a nice town, it is not very interesting. They are only known for two things: ceramic industry and their train station. Limoges is just not a very exciting place. Trains! Yes, there train station is nice. They do not have an airport (at least a large one). From Orly or CDG (in Paris) its about 2 hours to Limoges. They do have buses and taxis. Buses in Limoge is very cheap (1.60 euros). Taxis are cheaper in Limoges than they are in Paris (about 10 euros for a trip across town). Taxi are better as buses don't run that often.
