As long as you stay within the single digit arrondissements in Paris you will be able to get to Eiffel tower very quickly. No more than 5- 20mins via the metro depending where you are. Just got back from o/s 4 days ago. Stayed at the Hotel Mont Blanc in Paris it's close to everything. Caught the train to the Eiffel Tower to see it lit up at night only because we had been walking everywhere else and that night we were getting tired.
