Where can I buy my school supplies?

Where to buy school supplies in Paris?

  • Cheap school supplies? Or should I buy them here in the u.s before I go? I'm going to university btw

  • Answer:

You could bring school supplies from the US. BUT you have to remember that in France they do not use the same size paper as in the US so all your binders, folders and sleeves are not going to fit anything that your teachers hand-out to you. We use A4 for everything. So bring your pens, highlighter and other things but leave the fivestar at home. Bring a few notebooks if you are particular about using lined(ruled) paper. Here we often take notes on what is grid paper in the states. We have Office Depot in France! so that is one place You'll find tons of cute, fun and sometimes inexpensive folders notebooks and pens at Monoprix: the French Target School supplies are not cheap here I can tell you that. We don't load-down on folders and other things like we do in the US. But the quality of paper goods here is much higher (as are most things). Buy your supplies here and they turn into things you will keep forever when you go home. Have a real French experience by going into a Press like the Buci News on Rue Grégoire de Tours in the 6th (amoung many other great ons in the city) and buy all sorts of fun pencil cases and fountain pens.
