Do ducks know that they're ducks?

  • So my roomates and I were trying to figure this out. Do ducks know that we call them ducks, and do they hear us say "duck" or do they hear something else?

I don't think that they really know what they are. They do seem to stay together as a group. This could be for protection from predators. Kinda like a giant alarm system, when one freaks out they all do. But as far as knowing they're ducks, NAAH!

No...animals don't "know" stuff...they have instincts. What they hear from us is like "blah blah blah ga ga".

did you say dumb or ducks and who is what does a dog know if it is called doberman i doubt it we speak human languages ,ducks dont they call each other quack quacks
