    Dragons rely on lighting to tell them when to eat sleep mate... you need more than a heat lamp for him.... he needs a full spectrum light, you can get a bar with two sockets and on one end you will need a UVB light, its a coiled light they are a little expensive but without it he cannot digest the calcium you are putting on his crickets making that absolutely useless,,, on the other end you can use a normal 60 watt bulb for UVA, Another thing... if hes still young I would recommend changing his bedding to reptile carpet until hes big enough to know better than to eat his bedding, sand a woodchips can cause and impaction and lead to more serious problems. I dont know what you use as a water source but they now makewaterfalls that are a whole lot easier than cleaning a dish every time they defecate in it...

Sluggishness and loss of apetite are signs. Skin will fade to paler shades, or may peel. It won't "go to the bathroom" properly. (I'm sure it doesn't share your facilities.)

its probably because of the sand and wood chips, i had one and when it ate the crickets the sand would get stuck on its tongue and the sand was building up in its stomach it eventually died so i got another one and used rabbit pellits as bedding or shredded newspaper because it is easy to difest
