How to connect sky + hd box to surround sound?

I have jus bought a surround sound system and all speakers work when connected to the DVD player but when I connect it to my sky box only one speaker has sound. Can anyone help ...show more

Those home theater in a box are not flexible for adding anything to them or for up grading. They are mainly designed for you to watch a movie with the built in DVD or Blu Ray disc player with surround sound. To be able to have surround sound go through the system you need to connect an optical cable from the box to your surround sound system. If it does not have one, then you do not get surround sound. Keep in mind, that not all tv program have surround sound. Only those tv program with the Dolby Digital Logo will have the surround sound. Hope this will help you out.
