Is there a way to make your own surround sound with a few speakers?

It also can not decode 5.1 separate channels of audio and then send each channel out to the designated speakers or subwoofer. So no, you can not make your own surround sound setup by connecting multiple speakers to a TV. You have to get a surround receiver to perform amplification and surround audio decoding.
