The Best time to Visit Rio is between the months of Nov to march. This is the most active an alive time. It is Summer then and all of the people from all over Brasil come to celabrate New Years and Carnival...........

If you like summer: December, January or February 40°C. Now in may it is 22°C here, we are going to winter. July, June is a little colder for Brazilians. We have only fine coats we don't need to have really coats because Rio is heat our winter isn't very cold. I am Brazilian and I live in Rio. ***

Thats my opinion, regarding where I live. Amazon region (north) is suffocating in the summer, very humid. Brasilia, the capital, it´s very dry in the winter, dryer than the desert sometimes. The south can get a bit cold in winter, but nothing compared to winters in the North of the US/Canada or Europe... Northeast, by the coast has nice weather all year long.
