Can I play HD dvds on my blu-ray dvd player?

We have a sony hd tv and a blu-ray dvd player, and I just bought a hd dvd...will it play on our blu-ray dvd player? x

no.hd is not compatible with blu.unless ur blu-ray player has the feature to play hd.e.g. lg player.

Hd television is only a hd picture if the signal is in High Def. A Blu-Ray player will only play Blu-Ray Discs, HD-DVDS ONLY WORK ON HD-DVD PLAYERS. They do NOT work in a blu-ray dvd player. A PS3 with a good HDMI lead connected to a 1080p picture HD-TV will give the bestest picture and detail in any of the blu-ray discs that you play on it.

That is not true, Blu-ray dvd players can read HD CDs, its just that other regular DVD players cannot read Blu-ray CDs.

no you can play HD dvd's on a duel Hd and blu-ray player it costs more but you don't have to worry about buying Hd or blu rays accidentally

If you just bought it I would suggest returning it because Blu-Ray players wont read HD-DVDs.
