Take a look at the Onkyo HT-S6200, it is a 7.1 receiver and with a 7.1 speaker set up for around $600. Check out the system at Fry's Electronic. This is capable of producing Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio as you asked. Or you can look at the Pioneer receiver 5.1 and get a Klipsch Quintet speakers and a sub 10 subwoofer from Klipsch, check it out at Best Buy. Hope this will help you out.

A good subwoofer will cost you no less that $400, Good bookshelf speakers at least $150 a piece, that doesn't leave you much left for a quality receiver.
