Is this a good home theater system?

Is this a good 5.1 home theater system? I found it for $579 but am willing to go to $650. Is that the best for the money or can I get a better system? I would prefer it to be a htib.

Good is a relative term. If you want to compare to everything that is out there then the answer is no. A $700 system is a low-end, entry level system for people that either dont want or cant spend a lot of money or simply dont care about audio/video quality. Even though your link has not shown, I am very familiar with the type of system you will get for $700. Its not a good system but it will do what you are looking for. Just dont go to a true A/V store otherwise you will hate your system. Once you hear the difference you cant go back.

no link, check out bestbuy they usually have where if you buy a speaker set you can get a discount on a receiver. That is how i picked up my Yamaha with JBL's

There are great HTIB's at other retailers for much less money that are wonderful. The one I own I paid 128$, it is RCA I have had it for over 4 years and it has been wonderful.
