i have a skyhd box and i dont have sky can i use the sky box to get freeview instead of purchasing a new box

Answer:
If you want to receive Freeview you will need an ordinary UHF aerial mounted on the roof of the building with a suitable set-top box or Freeview-integrated TV. Satellite dishes and receiver boxes are not designed to receive Freeview, but you may be able to use your set-up for the Freesat channels.

Other answers
Freesat, yes, with a freesat card and Freesat or Sky dish. You cannot use the DVR features on a Sky+ box without a Sky card and subscription. Freeview, no. The satellite tuner is not compatible with aerial signal.
