How do you connect a direct tv plus hd dvr receiver to your new hd tv?

    as classics has said this will only work with OTA signals only so if your going to get the HD package from direct tv you will need a different receiver cause this one will not work-should be able to get one from direct tv for free with the promotions -i hope you did'nt but this from E-bay

You need to run a second coax to use dualt tuner DVR functionality. You can use componet or HDMI to connect it to your PC. I will say, if you don't already know, the HR10-250 is an MPEG2 Ku only receiver, so will no longer get any of the HD channels from DirecTV, since they are MPEG4. You will need to get an HR2x DVR to get the new HD format. The HR10-250 can still get your local broadcast channels in HD, with its built in ATSC tuners though.

When I had hd programming added to my dish account, they sent out an installer to put up a second dish for the hd programming. Dish uses 2 different satellites Directv doesn't have to do this, but they probably have to put another LNB in the nose of your satellite dish and run another cable from there to the hd receiver. I would call them and find out
