Can a big, old-fashioned computer monitor affect the productivity of your wireless N router?

    I think yes, because old monitors (not all) has a internal magnet inside and I think this is blocking certain power signal from your router. If you notice this problem after you installed this monitor to your computer I am sure that the monitor is the problem. If you want to solve it, try to move your router to a different place in your room or house.

I suppose its possible. Your old CRT monitor contains a ton of lead. And lead can absorb wireless radio waves from say your router. Try moving the router away.
